Background:
The International Development Law Organization (IDLO) is a public international organization, established by an international agreement, with its headquarters in Rome, Italy. The mandate of the organization determined by its 18 Member Countries is to promote the rule of law and good governance in developing countries and countries in economic transition. The Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, with the assistance of IDLO and financial support from the Italian Government, is implementing a new project built on two previous projects completed by IDLO and Italy over the last 4 years.
IDLO seeks an IT Assistant and Data Base Operator, with 2 or more years of previous experience in computer-based tools.
Duties & Responsibilities:
IT ASSISTANT AND DATA BASE OPERATOR
This full time position is based in Kabul, Afghanistan. The IT Assistant / Data Base Operator will be responsible, under the direct supervision of the of the Head of Training of Trainers (TOT) and of the Administrative and Finance department, for entering data in the IDLO database for the collection and generation of training results.
DUTIES:
1. Be a focal point of entering data in the MS Access 2007-based database for the collection and generation of training results.
2. Interact with both legal and course assistants to get a timely submission of the End of Course questionnaires.
3. Entering data in the MS Access database for the collection of data of Visiting Instructors and Consultants as well as participants of the training courses.
4. Support multiple IT tasks with changing priorities.
5. Revise, amend and maintain the internal database.
6. Help cooperate and be able to update the Kabul section on IDLO website (piazza).
Qualifications required:
Education: IT Degree or significant experience in Information Technology;
Experience:
1. 2 years or more of work experience with computer-based tools for data collection (spread sheets, database entry screen, web applications and forms);
2. Good working knowledge of, and ability to develop, Microsoft Acces (2003-2007) databases;
3. Able to multi task;
4. Prior work experience with the international donor-funded project would be an advantage;
Competencies: Ability to work at times under pressure and within tight deadlines. Good interpersonal skills and good organizational skills.
- Languages: Good command of spoken and written English and Dari / Pashto languages.
Other: Competency in working effectively with other national and cultural backgrounds using courtesy and tact.
Entry on duty: Immediate.
